I am in shock! The zita swoon concert took place two days ago, i couldn't reach a computer since than, so i expected a flood of emails related to this topic, but hell no: NONE. I hate to be the first one to 'launch' an opinion, but i happen to quit agree with the guy who wrote the article in 'de standaard'; It basicly comes down to this: from the moment stef took of his vest, the concert openend up, it was like a weight fell of his schoulders at that very instant... they opened with i believe five or six new songs, a brave decision, but i held on to my heart, cause, what can an audience do at such a moment apart from stand there and listen (cause it were pretty calm songs at first). you felt that the songs were new, and not only to the audience, but - converse to what a friend i bumped into said- i find that normal; You have to grow into songs. Firthermore there's one more importnat, well to me, thing i've got to say (that disco rocked and the big board of the 'dead head' was ugly according to me is not so important) STAMINA: wooooooooow! on the album, i find it an okay, well pretty nice song, but not that special, but live wednesday, man, i barly kept from crying (as did stef, we happened to notice): dimmed light, beautiful back voice, synths just floating there, slight drumstroke now and then and stef 'woolfishly' crying inbetween...even if the rest of the evening would have sucked big time, those minutes were already worth every penny of that ticket... |
