... Zita Swoon definitely were in Zichem last night, either that or they came up with some petty good impersonators. Apparently the Groningen gig was cancelled less than two weeks ago, and one bloke from den Hemel happened to call their booking office some time later (last thursday) for some other group, and was offered Zita for a bargain price. Anyways, the were great. Stef got on stage and he looked so eager. Two weeks ago at the AB he looked nervous and hesitant at times, but last night he just got out there and played. His voice was great also, he scored all the high notes at full volume, awesome at times. The set was one and a half hours which was 30 minutes less, but they had cut out all the fat and redundant stuff, and had not one weak moment. Before the encore they finished with two songs from Sunrise and then Jacky from Brel none of which they had played at the AB. I must say the set was tremendously better than only three weeks ago, eat your heart out Tom Barman. ... O yea, forgot to mention that Klaas was there last night to watch the gig. (And Bjorn and the drummer (Mark?) were in a skirt, and Tom had painted his finger nails in case anyone is interested). |
