First the setlist, 'en het gaat als volgt': Intro improv Wow, what a show! One of the best I've seen so far by this band (this was my 28th Moondog/Zita Swoon-gig, btw). Energy was superfluous both on and off-stage. Major examples of this were 'Disco', 'Drowned' and 'Stamina'. This was Zita Swoon's last gig in Holland this tour, and the guys really made a big party out of it. Bjorn's daughter was one of the few people who didn't seem to be very interested. Normally, there's a cardboard doll of her on stage. This time, she and her mom were in the front row of the audience, with the little girl sitting on stage and looking at all those people moving strangely. Stef was clearly amused by the sight of her at some times. Afterwards, I again had a small conversation with Laurence, and we talked about the gig in Leeuwarden the night before (with a very mixed audience, including some punks), Mathieu, festivals, guest lists, the homepage, and the lots. Also a fun part of the last few Zita Swoon-days was (re)encountering some of the mailing list's members, like Marie, Jintro, Natascha, Tony, Annet and Karin. All in all, the last few days were a splendid way of spending the weekend which climaxed with a perfect gig last night. Looking forward to the next shows. |

... I missed the dancers at the Den Bosch show (they're so funny!), but yes, it's the Japanese one that will be in Plage/Tattoo, along with a male dancer that I met at the Antwerp show last December. Bjorn said Den Bosch was the best gig of his life! Maybe it's his cute little daughter smiling endearingly at him through the whole concert! |
