Mathieu H was simply great! Very intrigueing kind of music which fascinates me a lot. And of course this was the first time I saw Laurence perform (on trumpet)! Waiting 'til you're
gone Short summary: this show was quite good. The main reason is the special set list (WCS, Animals, City, Jintro), I think. They played for about two hours, which is a good indication that the band also liked to play. Unfortunately no 'The messenger', but with some guy shouting all the time, this was probably not a good idea anyway. |

Here some comments on last night's ZS show. Except for Paul, I didn't see any ml people. first we had Mathieu. He looked a bit Tibetian or Asian. He came on stage only with his accordeon and his voice. He sang the whole show in his high voice in some Asian sounding language (but it could well be French with a huge accent). I was quite impressed how he could get such a big sound out of his instrument. Does anyone know him or has heard him play yet? I'd really like to know about the bloke. Found it a very good intro to the ZS gig. > Mathieu H was simply
great! Very intrigueing kind of music which Finaly an opportunity to show her musical aspirations:) The 2 songs she played with him were also accompagnied by Aarich (drums) and Tomas (percussion), who looks very COOL in his Balkan outfit. ... I could add that they improvised on a few occasions. I got hold of a setlist and it deviates a few times on what they played. Stef also did some grandmaster flash lyrics on WCS ("sometimes it makes me wonder..."). I very much liked the live version of I need new animals. Before the gig I saw Stef walking through the crowd with his dog. Despite the funny sight, not many people seemed to recognize him. He was wearing some (self made?) black dress/suit thingie. Apart from some 'loemperik' behind me which was constantly shouting requests, I found it a very intense, good show. Glad to see so many guitars live! |
