I just came back from Bullit, a local record store that opened its new shop today. There was also some Belgian band performing there today by the way. I think the band is called Itsa Woonz or something like that :)

The mini-gig was scheduled to start at 15.00h, but after having heard what had happened in Antwerp, I decided to show up early, i.e. 14.00h. Result: No one there, so I browsed to the freshly placed cds. At three o'clock the band showed up and in about 20 minutes they built up the set. Aarich's drum kit looked superprofessional: a cardboard box with a snare drum on top of it.

Stef and Tom started practicing a new song, and after a little bit of trying, the gig commenced. The setlist:

'The messenger' was the highlight and can simply be described by one word: impressive. What a beautiful song that is... Stef started solely, but in the second verse he was accompanied by the rest.

After the show, I talked to Tom and Bjorn.

Tom is still working on at least four projects: Zita Swoon, Flowers for Breakfast, The Onion Brass Band, and another project that still hasn't got a name.

The Onion Brass Band will do some touring later this year. Tom was a bit vague about his other project. He couldn't really describe what kind of music it was, he didn't know a name yet, and in short: he didn't know much about the future of it.

With Bjorn I talked about Plage Tattoo. Some material of it will be released on the next Zita Swoon album. It is not clear if the album will solely consist of Plage Tattoo-stuff. Thing are going ok, so it will indeed by premiered at the Holland Festival.

Bjork also confirmed that Zita Swoon will perform at Pinkpop and another festival in Eindhoven :)

Finally, I asked Bjorn if they would consider playing 'The messenger' again tonight. Curious if they'll do it...
