Can't believe no one has already writen about the Zita Swoon yesterday. I won't write a lot, & I won't write the songlist cuz I can't remember all of it (but I hope Pedro does). I'll just say it was the most fabulous show I ever saw. Zita Swoon is a HUGE band. Stef is a fabulous player and singer. I just haven't the words to make you guys understand what I felt... But I think the people that have already seen them live know what I'm talking about.

I bought the vinyl of IPPOAWD (with the Sound Hobbyist!), and tomorrow I'll buy a t-shirt in Coimbra (I HAVE to see them again, even if I have to go alone).

Later addition by Stéphane:

I wrote about the Zita Swoon's concert on thursday, remember? Remember that I wrote that it had been the "most fabulous show I ever saw"? Now just imagine what it is for a huge fan like me to spend two days with Zita Swoon. (yes. you've read it). The afternoon I sent that mail, Pedro, Eduardo and their girlfriends and me, were with Zita Swoon since 4 o'clock (6 o'clock for me). We drank with them, talked with them, listened to music, had dinner with them, had a night walk. I met everyone (including the roadies and Stef's girlfriend, Laurence), and had the privilege of talking with Stef, head to head, for half an hour. They were all so nice. I still can't believe it. It was beautiful. Something I will never forget.

I know I took a bit long to write about this, but I took some time to get back to the real world again...

It all started when me and Eduardo went to see Zita Swoon's soundcheck. Since the stupid securities didn't let us go into the stage (not even when Bjorn asked them) we got completely wet (it was raining all the time). The soundcheck was not amazing but there was a great version of "How Can I Resist..." with different lyrics:

"And when you get horny I will be your feast, without askin' permission I will fuck you like a beast" :-))))))))))))

I'll skip the show part because Staphane talked about it already, but I can only add that they were much better at KAAIMAN. After the gig, I talked to Laurence and she took us backstage. Well, it was a really strange feeling when we went in... everyone was quiet and the best sentence I could get in 5 seconds was: "... hummm.. we're a bit shy..". I know it was not the best sentence, but it worked, they started smiling and the athmosphere changed. Here are some news I got from them:

- There will be a new Kiss My Jazz album out this month wich will be their last album. Stef said that he participates in this album more than ever, and that he thinks it's a shame that Rudy dosen't want to continue because he was finally getting into it.

- Tumbleweed is a Bjorn's band where Stef plays bass, and MAYBE they'll release a CD, but not so soon and probably with another name.

- Think Of One's album is also just about to be released. Tomas said that it will be out when they (ZS) get back to belgium. About it's sonority, he said it changed a bit, it's not so jazzy but more "party" (like when they oppened for KMJ in Den Haag).

- Benjamin was missed by Stef, but he wanted to quit all the bands he was into for personal reasons. Anyway, now he plays in a kinda "Salsa" band.

- The Plage Tatoo CD will be released in a very limited edition. Maybe only at the performances. Warner didn't want to release the CD because it was a very weird music. Anyway, the performers will be: Stef (travesti), Tomas (or Tom? I don't remember), Aarich, the japonese girl who used to dance at some of their gigs and that tall-half-bold-man who used to be with her. These two guys also appear on the Instant Street video.

- Their new single "Disco" will be released in two tracks with: Disco (released version) Disco (edit) - a bit shorter and there will be also a limited edition with probably 8 tracks with 8 different versions of Disco: The original one, one made by Bjorn, another by Rudy Trouvee (YES, YES!!!) and the others I don't remember.

The next day we had a meeting with Tom and Aarich at a cafe. We talked for a while about their bands and Tom said he's workin' on a solo project (maybe with the colaboration of Tim). He said it will be kinda dance project with synths but not like Vive La Fete.

About Flowers For Breakfast, they want to quit with the record company that's why they don't play more gigs. They want them to think they're "dead" so they can sign with anotherone where they have more freedom.

After a while Stef, Laurence and all the roadies joined us. Tom and Aarich listened to Belle Chase Hotel wich they seemed to enjoy and Stef listened to our Coimbra '95 bootleg (the first time dEUS came to Portugal). He enjoyed it soooo much that he listened to it almost 'till the end. He said Tom Barman already talked to him about it and that he'd like to get a copy as well if possible.

When we left they wanted to go shopping (2nd hand cloths) so we took them to Bairro Alto. They spent hours trying cloths and buying postcards. Then we stopped at a bar where Stephane, Tomas and Bjorn joined us. Those guys are really INCREDIBLE, we were talkin to them as if we knew them already and as if they were not our IDOLS. It was a strenge feeling but at the same time it was... ahh I cannot discribe it. Afterwards we went to a restaurant, we had dinner, we went out we took pictures, they took pictures, and in the end of the night, they thanked us for the great time we had together... can you imagine??? Zita Swoon saying "thank you guys, you were really nice for showing us this place. We had a great time"

Tom kissed me on the left cheek and Laurence as well... I almost fainted :-)

Cannot wait for them to come back.
