Tuesday 19th June

Thanks to Wolf for this interview from De Standaard online that he sent quite some time ago. Let me know if you can translate it!

I've been going through some old e-mails and Wolf came up with this information "according to De Standaard, ZSwill perform in Bielefeld (Germany), in some cultural exchange project between Flanders and Nordrhein-Westfalen; no date is mentioned though..." Does anyone know anything about this?

Read also what Benjamin Boutreur has been up to.

Sunday 17th June Koen tells us of another festival... "Zita Swoon will perform @ Rock for Specials, a benefit for people with a handicap it's 27th June in Evergem. More information +3292536352 also performances of k's choice" NB Only handicapped people or those helping someone who is handicapped can go to the festival
Monday 11th June

So what has Aarich been up to? Wolf has done some investigating and this is what he has found on Via Viola, Jukebox Computer Game, Cedar Goddess (both from last year) and the recent Had I A Song (with Ivor Gurney)

Tomas has also been involved in his own projects. Wolf and Quentin bring us news of the most interesting that he has heard " according to the great site de MuziekMakery (about think of one and related stuff, http://users.skynet.be/vanimpe/muziekmakery) Tomas De Smet will be this year's attraction at the Klinkende Munt festival ! He'll bring guests, but who they are is still a secret."

The Klinkende Munt festival is an annual free festival held in Brussels, la place de la Monnaie/het Muntplein from 4 July untill 13 July; thomas will do his stuff on the 11th and the 12th of July at 24h00 on each day. More information : check http://beursschouwburg.vgc.be/programma/klinkende_munt/index.html

Saturday 9th June "I heard that Aarich has got some project : in collaboration with Muziektheater Transparant (see also the 28 may news), he has written music for "Via Viola" which is called "a lyrical drama in the style of an operette". Performances include 8th-11th December, DeSingel Antwerpen, I-don´t know-when Vooruit Gent...? I also read some stuff about the ´Amsterdam Project`(see news update 9 March and 16th May); Idon´t remember all the details but it surely is another project than the `Gentle Ruddy Turnstone` exhibition. SKC will write the music for a play but he won´t play the music himself. As soon as I refind the article, I´ll tell more." and who is this news from? Why Wolf of course - you're a star!
Monday 28th May

News from Wolf..." just read about a workshop, Institute for Living Voice'' in Bruges from 12 till 16 April 2002, where in SKC will appear as teacher (together with, among others, Blixa Bargeld). It is organised by Muziektheater Transparant, the company in which Aarich Jespers is the "residence composer" for more information about this workshop, check http://www.allsound.org/article.php?sid=323 (although on this page, nothing is mentioned about SKC)"

From SKC - he's back in Antwerp, they're preparing for festivals (PinkPop up first). France was good - it seems that fans are becoming more aware of Zita there.

Wednesday 16th May News about the 'Rotterdam Project' from Wolf - it may even have a name (the succinct "Gentle Ruddy Turnstone in an expanding collection of thoughts")
Monday 14th May

Sorry to the Italians, but I just received news that the Milan date is not at the Tunnel and not at Binario Zero, it has officially been cancelled.

In his news item (www.zitaswoon.com) on 24th April, SKC says they are considering doing a double bill in the UK towards the end of the year with Sandy Dylan. Nothing is confirmed.

Saturday 12th May Thanks to Polido for his transcription of this article from Público and the review of LIASS from the same magazine
Tuesday 8th May Themis has reviewed both the BlueBar acoustic set and the gig last week at the Rodon Club
Thursday 3rd May Alison and Martin have put up some photos from De Nachten up at their site. Go and take a look at SKC and Tommy B!
Monday 30th April

Themis has an update on the Greek situation "There is a big possibility that Zita will play acoustic at BlueBar on Wednesday (2nd May). I went at Blue Bar and even though there was a poster that said YES they told me No. I got my ticket for rodon, I'll certainly try blue and see you all out there."

Not exactly a straight answer then. Please let me know if you hear anything more about this!

Friday 27th April

For the Greeks, Rick brings us this news "For all you Greek people and all you that are thinking of maybe coming over here for the 3rd of May, this is going to be one hell of a Zita-Swoon-related week in Athens. The beginning was the day before yesterday with a very nice tribute-party. This Saturday there will be another tribute to the Antwermusicscene on Rock FM (17"00 to 20"00), on Wednesday, SKC will, most probably, appear on HACKERS TvShow round 17"00, the same night Zita Swoon will be visiting BLUE bar(halandri) and even though there arent any plans for some live performance rumours have been raging on, on Thursday round 16"00 Stef will be at Rock Fm for a short interview, and last-but certainly not least- thursday night ZitaSwoon will be in RODON club supported by Greek bands 'Bokomolech' and 'Stanfree'. The whole thing will start at 20"30 and tickets are can be found for 7000drh at RODONclub and recordstores Trust, happening, vinyl microstore, vinyl lust, zaxarias and disco queen. Sunday 18th March From Menno "Ullo, Zita Swoon was on a dutch tv show called "de plantage". I switched the tv on too late so I only caught the fading tones. The show will have a rerun on tuesday 15.00 ned3 so trigger your vcr's"

Friday 9th March

More news from Wolf..."According to Ivo Van Hove, president of ´Toneelgroep Amsterdam´ (a dutch theatre group) there will be a ´project´ next year with SKC (interview in de standaard today) he does not say anything more, maybe it´s music, maybe it´s dance, maybe it´s theatre... maybe (or hopefully) something totally new. Possibly this refers to the same news as found on http://www.rudytrouvee.yucom.be/" (The Rotterdam show, a reminder of which follows...)

It is well known that SKC is exhibiting in Rotterdam in September this year, but according to fanzine Devor-Rock, it definitely doesn't seem like it will be a 'regular' exposition, as it will involve dancing by himself and a female Portuguese dancer.
