SKC is cooperating with Toneelgroep Amsterdam
(Belgians making music for Carmen show)

SKC, frontman of ZS, is getting involved in the Dutch artscene. Last year, he was involved with Motel Mozaique in Rotterdam, nowadays he is rehearsing for a play by Toneelgroep Amsterdam. The play Carmen is an adaption of the muscial Carmen of the novel by Prosper Merimée (1845) and the opera by George Bizet (1875). The words are written by writer/actor Oscar van Woensel. Toneelgroep Amsterdam delivers the actors Roeland Fernhout, Maarten Claeyssens, Gunilla Verbeke and Benjamin de Wit. Carlens will also be coaching the actors since they're supposed to perform part of the music themselves.

Besides Carlens, Richard Janssen (Fatal Flowers/Shine) is also working at this project. Since Carlens himself is also playing in the band which will appear on stage but will have to stop in the middle of the tour because he's expecting a baby, Janssen is rehearsing alongside. He will replace Carlens later on. Other cooperating musicians are Mieke de Block (synthesizer) and Guy van Nueten (piano). The latter has recently been touring with Tom Barman.

Richard Janssen had been asked last week to come and have a look at the rehearsals, so he can only give a reaction about his first impressions: "A nice project, I believe, but I don't know yet so much about it". In any case, he will be part of it whole sprintime. The first try outs will take place before summertime. After the premiere, the show will be scheduled in, among others, Utrecht, Eindhoven, Tilburg, Gent, Antwerpen and Brussel

Stef Kamil Carlens werkt met Toneelgroep Amsterdam

Zita Swoon voorman Stef Kamil Carlens roert zich in het Nederlandse kunstcircuit. Werkte hij vorig jaar al samen met het Rotterdamse Motel Mozaique, op dit moment is Carlens bezig met de repetities van een voorstelling van Toneelgroep Amsterdam. Richard Janssen werd vorige week gevraagd eens te komen kijken bij de repetities en kan dus alleen nog maar een reactie geven op basis van eerste indrukken. "Een mooi project, lijkt me. Maar ik weet er nog niet zo veel van." Hij zal er in ieder geval het hele voorjaar bij betrokken zijn. De eerste try outs zullen nog voor de zomer plaats vinden. Na de premiere zal de voorstelling onder meer in Utrecht, Eindhoven, Tilburg, Gent, Antwerpen en Brussel te zien zijn.
